Etaluma Announces the Appointment of Dr. Mary Harper as Scientific Adviser

July 24, 2014 – (Carlsbad, CA) Etaluma announced today the appointment of Dr. Mary Harper as Scientific Adviser. “With important technical, operational and management experience, Mary’s talents add a major expertise to Etaluma and the team is enthusiastic about having a new member who can accelerate Etaluma’s momentum into the fifth year of double-digit growth!” commented Dr. Chris Shumate, President, CEO and co-Founder of Etaluma. Mary has over 25 years experience leading R&D programs and business development efforts in the biotech industry. Most notably, she has worked to develop and commercialize a range of nucleic acid technologies, including gene regulation and transcription assays, gene therapy, antisense therapeutics and in situ hybridization. She has also worked on protein biologics and the design and sale of laboratory tools. Companies where she has held senior management positions include Gen-Probe, Genta, Introgen Therapeutics, Desmos, Genpathway and V&P Scientific. Her expertise also extends to product development, operations, program management and intellectual property. Education: B.S. Biology, 1974, University of Missouri-Kansas City; Ph.D. Molecular Genetics, 1979, University of Minnesota.
